This was one of the first feature shows produced by Demolition Kitchen for KMUW, Wichita Public Radio's, late night show "Sister Midnight". The early shows that were produced were attempts to interview bands in the broadcast studio, which didn't work out very well. The problem is that when you bring a band into a studio who aren't seasoned professionals, it's hard to get them to loosen up to record good results. Not only that, We weren’t very good at interviewing people, because of nervousness. So, the solution turned out to be taking a field recorder out to a location where the band, or solo artist, felt comfortable and record whatever happened.
This show was the first time that we tried this approach and we got way more than I bargained for. "Joes Nose" a local Wichita Hardcore band (from 1986-1988) was having a party and they invited me to come by and interview them during the party, we just gave the recorder over to the band and let them record the show themselves. We wound up with recordings of party goers in the tops of trees looking for UFO's, a roving mic that picked up much more information than we wanted to find and of course lots of vomiting.
It's 60 minutes of abuse, screaming, drinking, vomiting, tree climbing, T.V. watching and unexpected party guests
